Why? Bec...I'm firmly in the Descending AC Camp. Why? Because I cut my teeth on Basic/Expert D&D and 9 = swaddling clothes and -9 = nuclear-powered armor made out of adamantium. It's become second nature and preferred. Makes me an old fuddy-duddy, I guess, but lower = better.
